ยท TikTok
TikTok provides separate options to deactivate or delete an account. Choose deletion if you want the account removed rather than placed on hold.
Before you delete
- Request your TikTok data first. TikTok says the export can take a few days to prepare and remains available for four days once ready.
- Save any videos or drafts you need. Some drafts may exist only on the device where they were created.
- Review subscriptions, balances, or creator and business obligations connected to the account.
Delete your TikTok account
- In TikTok, tap Profile at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Menu button, then Settings and privacy.
- Tap Account, then Deactivate or delete account.
- Choose deletion and follow TikTok's confirmation instructions.
What happens next
TikTok's deletion flow explains the applicable waiting period and confirmation steps for your account and region. Follow that in-app notice as the current source of truth.
Deleting the app from your phone is not part of the account deletion process. You can remove the app after the deletion request is confirmed.

Menus and timelines can change. Confirm the current process in the TikTok Help Center. If you want a copy first, use Request your TikTok data.
