ยท Steam
Steam handles deletion through Steam Support. The request places the account in a restricted 30-day queue before permanent deletion.
Before you delete
- Download anything you need and review your games, licenses, wallet balance, subscriptions, and purchase history. Deletion is permanent and does not create refunds automatically.
- Make sure you can prove ownership of the account if Steam Support asks for verification.
- Review community posts and comments. Steam says some community content can remain even after the account is deleted.
Delete your Steam account
- Sign in to Steam Support and open the account-deletion request.
- Follow the ownership-verification steps and submit the request.
- Read the restriction and 30-day cancellation terms before confirming.
- Contact Steam Support within 30 days if you want to cancel the deletion request.
What happens next
Steam says the account is queued for deletion for 30 days. After that period, the account, games, licenses, wallet funds, and friends list are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Deleting Steam does not automatically refund purchases, and community posts or comments may remain. Treat the support confirmation as the source of truth for your request status.
