ยท Snapchat
Snapchat begins deletion by deactivating the account. Under its standard process, the account can be reactivated for 30 days and is permanently deleted after another 30 days.
Before you delete
- Request My Data and save any Memories you need. Snapchat says exports can take up to seven days, and large requests can take longer.
- Make sure you know the username and password. A deactivated account cannot be accessed with only the email address or phone number.
- Review purchases or subscriptions separately; Snapchat may retain limited purchase, legal, security, and business records.
Delete your Snapchat account
- On iPhone, open your profile and tap Settings.
- Scroll to Account Actions and tap Delete Account.
- Sign in to the Snapchat accounts portal.
- Choose Delete my account, enter your password, and tap Continue.
What happens next
For most users, Snapchat deactivates the account for 30 days, then permanently deletes it after another 30 days. India has a longer deletion period under Snapchat's local process.
Snapchat says you can download data during the first 30 days. Log in during that first window only if you intend to reactivate or retrieve data.
