Pinterest offers both temporary deactivation and permanent deletion. Choose deletion to remove the profile, boards, and personal data rather than simply hiding them.
Before you delete
- Request a Pinterest data download from the web version if you need a copy.
- For a business account, clear outstanding billing issues and review payment details before deletion.
- Make sure you can access the account's email address because Pinterest sends a confirmation message.
Delete your Pinterest account
- Open Pinterest and go to Settings.
- Choose Account management.
- Select Delete account on the web, or Delete your data and account in the mobile app.
- Follow the prompts, then open Pinterest's email and confirm the closure.
What happens next
Pinterest says the public profile is deactivated immediately and the account and personal data are permanently deleted after seven days. You can reactivate during that window if you change your mind.
Deactivation is different: it hides the profile and boards but keeps the email address and username tied to the account.
