ยท Dropbox
Deleting Dropbox removes the account and its files, but it does not remove copies of files shared into someone else's folder. Cancel a paid plan before deleting.
Before you delete
- Download or move files you want to keep. Dropbox says deleted account files cannot be recovered.
- Cancel a paid Dropbox plan and check the billing cycle before deletion.
- If you use Google sign-in, make sure you have a Dropbox password available for the account settings flow.
Delete your Dropbox account
- Sign in to Dropbox on the web and open Settings.
- Open the General tab and find Delete account.
- Enter your password, choose a reason, and confirm Delete account.
- Remove the Dropbox app from your devices after the account deletion request is confirmed.
What happens next
Dropbox says the account and its files are deleted and cannot be recovered. Files that other people copied or that remain in shared folders can still exist for those people.
Dropbox may retain limited records where necessary for legal, security, or billing reasons. Deleting the app alone does not close the account.

Menus and timelines can change. Confirm the current process in the Dropbox Help. If you want a copy first, use the service's export tool.
