Apple's Data & Privacy portal lets you download a copy of your information or request permanent deletion of your Apple Account.
Before you delete
- Use Apple's Data & Privacy page to download a copy of your data before requesting deletion.
- Sign out of iCloud and remove Activation Lock from devices you plan to sell or give away.
- Review iCloud storage, Apple subscriptions, App Store purchases, Apple Pay, and any family-sharing responsibilities before confirming.
Delete your Apple account
- Open Apple's Data & Privacy page and sign in with the Apple Account you want to remove.
- Choose Request to delete your account and review the consequences for iCloud and Apple services.
- Select a reason, provide a contact method, and submit the request.
- Keep the access code Apple gives you. You may need it to check or cancel the request before deletion completes.
What happens next
Apple says account deletion is permanent and removes access to iCloud and services tied to the Apple Account. Purchases, subscriptions, and stored content cannot be transferred to another account.
Apple provides a status or cancellation path during processing. Keep the access code and follow the confirmation instructions rather than assuming the request has completed immediately.
